I have been encouraged for quite a while to write. There are many reasons that I gave myself to NOT do it, not the least of which is my lack in self confidence with regards to my writing abilities. This blog marks an experiment on my part to try my hand at writing on a regular basis. I claim no expertise and very little ability. That said, I intend this blog to be as much about my notes and thoughts as a platform for my actual writing. And with that short introduction, I hereby begin.

While driving back from the holiday goings on with the various families, S. continued on her relatively recent adventure with crochet. In explaining a piece of something she found interesting about crochet, and sparked a thought in me about a potential piece of a story. S. mentioned that crochet is interesting to her, in part, because of its difference from knitting. She described knitting attaching things to a grid and crochet as stitching things together where ever you wanted. This concept made me think of attaching things that are completely distinct (e.g., a car person and a car.) My train of thought then led me to think about hooking together different points in space and time, like creating wormholes. Further thoughts led me to a concept of different types of thread-work (crochet, knitting, needlepoint, etc.) being differing kinds of powers/magic. I am not entirely sure what to do with these concepts, but I will see where they take me. For now, it is time to ponder and look forward to further writings.
